August marks the beginning of “a time of celebration” in India. We had Rakhsha Bandhan last week, and today is Janamashtami. Janamashtami is the celebration of Lord Krishna’s birth. Teachings of Krishna have transcended boundaries, cultures and religions across the world, because he provides a path to a fulfilling life without following any particular religion. This day is particularly close to my heart since as per the Hindu calendar, my daughter was born on the birthday of Krishna’s consort, Radha. Radha and Krishna symbolize the ultimate story of love and devotion. Here is a picture of my little Radha playing with an idol of baby Krishna. Happy Janamashtami to all those who celebrate!
