Many moons ago, two naïve yet ambitious girls left the country they were born in to move to another they would call home. Little did they know what a different world awaited them. They only knew what they brought with them – two suitcases full of love, tradition, and culture – much different from their new home.

We met when we were fresh out of college, bright eyed and bushy tailed headed into the high-powered, fast paced world of travel and consulting. We were ready to take on the world and make our mark! We had made it into one of the big 5 consulting firms and there was no looking back. Over the years, a ton of memories were made and our suitcases continued to fill with new friends, new traditions and experiences. Work became life, ambitions and dreams were flying high and we even found love!!

Time really does pass very fast when you are having fun and although life took us down different paths, we still remained connected. It has been 11 years since the day we first met and not much has changed – except that it has. We are now two naïve yet ambitious moms and women who want to run the world. This blog is our attempt to unveil what we have collected in those suitcases which are busting at their seams. We have so much to share – our fun and crazy journey through living in two different cultures, careers, finding love, motherhood, lifestyle, fashion and more. With our “feet in two worlds” (literally and figuratively) …. we bring to you the adventures of two friends who want to always retain their love for life and wanting to have it all, but can they? Follow us and find out.

Meet the Bloggers

Hey everyone!! I am Mamta Chaurdia, mom to two amazing boys who keep me on my toes 24×7. They are my biggest weakness but also my greatest strength! Happily married to my main squeeze who keeps me sane and also drives me up the wall, all in the same breath sometimes. I came to the United States to pursue my Masters and worked for the very first and only company I interviewed with. When I met my interviewer and he told me about Deloitte, I knew this is where I wanted to be. Just like that first decision I made charting out my professional ambitions, I have always led with my heart – found the love of my life, now husband, and eventually put my career on the back burner to raise my 2 boys. I truly believe that I have been in the right space at each phase in my life. My boys are my most challenging, demanding and fulfilling “clients” who rival every demanding role I have ever played. They give me new stories to share and hilarious anecdotes to narrate. It is almost a disservice to society if I don’t “pen” these down to share the sheer hilarity somewhere.

So in a nutshell, I am daughter to an awesome couple who were high school sweethearts (probably where I get my follow the heart instinct), married to my best friend and mom to two adorable boys. I am all of this AND I am also passionate about traveling the world, finding new DIY projects to personalize our home and have an eye for style. I am fortunate that my husband loves to travel as much as I do and loves working with me on every DIY project. As long as I can imagine it, he can make it happen! I love sharing my fashion finds with friends and am hoping that with this blog, I will get to share it with a larger audience. As always, I am following my heart and taking you along on my newest adventure. Hope you will enjoy it as much as I enjoy bringing it to you.

I am a successful career women and a mom to an ever-curious and super energetic little girl. I was born and brought up in India and moved to US about 13 years ago to pursue a Masters program. It was the first time ever travelling alone leaving my home, family and friends to land in a country which was so different from my own yet had a very welcome feel to it. America instantly made me feel at home. It is here that I found a fulfilling career, friendships, love, and created a lovely family.

Growing up, I had many friends, yet my closest friend was my diary (yes, I am that old). I would prefer to express my deepest thoughts and observations through writing (and honestly, it was better than to blurt out my real thoughts). It was my safe space where I penciled my perspectives and sought answers to questions about life (ah, such profound adolescence). Friends often mused that I had a knack of viewing everything with a different lens.

I was also raised in a household where kindness towards everyone was a virtue placed at a very high pedestal. “Help others whenever you can” is the unwritten mantra of our house. As I grew up, I got involved with various non-profits in my pursuit to give back.

And now, I am combining my passion for writing with my passion for helping people to share my perspectives on life through its ups & downs and laughter & tears. My goal is to be extremely candid with you, no matter how difficult it gets. And I hope you are too, because, aren’t we all in the impossible pursuit of perfection in life, career, and parenthood. Let’s share our stories as we seek to “have it all”.
